I love books

Don't you think that the best gift for the book lovers would be a beautiful bookmark in the shape of heart? We made one!

That kind of a bookmark you can create for everyone whom do you hear saying: 'I love books. I love to read.'

It is a practical gift and a little, beautiful surprise. Everyone will love it!

And for the less pessionate book lovers... you can create the bookmarks from our yesterday's post :). The important thing is that you take some time for creating and to share your created works with people, dear to you, don't you think?

Have a lovely, creative day!

Cultural hour

In Slovenia we celebrate Cultural Day tomorrow. So that's a good excuse to be 'cultural' and take a cultural hour for yourself and your creating. What first comes on my mind (because we remember our famous poet Prešeren on this day) are books (with their special scents), then bookmarks, then letters and after that all the other (official) 'cultural' things.

So, why not creating something in an hour? How about creating some simple and unique bookmarks?

You can write an initial letter of the owner of a bookmark on the top and decorate it. And on the rest of the bookmark, you can write (your) thought, quote, poem, part of the book that you like the most and you want to have it always near you.

That's how our experiments turned out in red ink (for Irene, Zara and Nicolas)...
How about yours?

Giving thanks, giving gifts 2014

Yes, it is back this year as well - the time in December that is especially precious to me. Time, dedicated to saying thanks and giving gifts. Time, when I look back into the year 2014, from which I've got new knowledge, new discoveries, new questions and answers. I am thankful for these gifts, which can not compete with all the St.Nikolas's-Santa Clause's-Father Cold's-New Year's gorgeous gifts, which are (compared with them) just a dot on a letter i. These gifts are gifts for ever, they will stay with me forever, from the day I've received them.

As always I invite you to join in and add your thoughts, comments, opinions and ideas, so that we all gain from this time as much as we can. And you’re welcome to invite others too!

This year my ‘Giving thanks, giving gifts’ is going to be a bit different from the previous years (2013, 2011, 2010, 2009), but I hope, that it is still going to be interesting and inspiring to you… My posts are going to be dedicated to the wise words that some known and less known people have said, and which helped me when I was down. Yes, there are days, when we doubt, worry, feel sad, feel pain or feel desperate… - and then, a word can help, or a hug, smile, music… What usually helps me are the words and actions that cross my path at the right time, at the right place. I’ll share some of these words with you this year.

#1: Everything is connected:

we all want similar things, we all need somebody or something that we can survive, everything is connected to everything else. Isn’t it great that someone grows food for me while I am busy with other things? Isn’t it great that I can talk to someone when I need advice? Garbage men, workers who produced my car, a dentist, neighbor’s cat, flowers and bees from which we get sweet honey... The list is endless. Everyone that we meet, has to be there because of us, everything that we go through, has to be as it is, so that the string of connection doesn’t break. It is not always to accept this, but I’m learning to see. I wish the same to you, because I believe it is easier to live our lives when we understand this, isn’t it so? What do you think?

And yes, we all want to be happy, every year, every December, no matter where we live. Isn’t it true? When you will be thinking about this, let me inspire you with this gorgeous simple video, which will remind you that we are all one…

PS: you can freely share my gifts (photos in my December posts) further. If you can’t save them from this website, you can save/share them via my FB page: CreatissimoLab FB page. Let the happy December & ‘the time for giving thanks, giving gifts’ begin! I’m looking forward to celebrate this time with you!

Stories on the walls

Have you ever strolled a city, 'reading' the stories of the city's walls? Sometimes there are just empty windows with cold looks, open doors with inviting stairs, and sometimes you can find walls with colorful, rich and exciting stories on them.

I don't see many stories in the modern cities anymore. Just graffiti. No artists employed to decorate the facades, no creative stories to share with visitors, no space for imagination...

I wonder where did all the stories go?

Luckily there are people who are writing their stories on  the walls 'for free'. Great stories, soulful stories... My favourite is artist JR whose wish is to use art to turn the world inside out. He is an inspiration how to make our place on Earth a little better.

Doesn't he make you wonder how would your story look like on the walls of your town? Be creative!

Inspiring click

People say all sorts of things about what makes a great photograph. They argue about the photo gear, composition, light etc. I think it's all in the click.

If you know your camera (no matter how big or small the camera is) and if you listen to your inner voice, then you know exactly what to do in a particular moment. You know when to click.

That's why I don't like 'staged' pictures, pictures made with all sorts of extra equipment, pictures so perfect that you find them too perfect, unreal... For me, photographs are experiments - experiments with perspective, view, light, expressions etc., etc.

If I lived in a city, I would go on the streets and just click, click, click. Like Vivian Maier did years ago (this photo is one of my favourites, but of course there are many more). Exploring, clicking, experimenting... Not making a big science out of it, but still dedicating the entire soul to every click. Taking pictures of the beautiful 'here and now'.

Life is made of clicks, inspiring clicks. We should all focus on the good ones and create a visual board we want to see. Enjoy!
