Today is a day when we put everything in kids' hands here. What a day! Great excitement, laughter, jostling, running here and there, not a second in stillness.

It is interesting to observe how with putting on a costume and mask something new wakes up inside of the kids. Even the most calm and dreamy kids become wild and can't control themselves anymore.

At drama therapy they 'play' with different personalities most of the time, but at art therapy we try to collect information at the events like this one. Everything develops in a great speed, so it is a hard work as we need to be careful to stay focused and not to get soaked into the tornado too.

If you have problems with your kids, it's a good day today to observe them from a different perspective and see what else is hiding inside them. But you have to be careful to not be fooled by the mask's surface. Don't focus on its surface, instead observe, what the mask brings out of your child's personality.

It is a difficult task, I know, but it's worth it. However, don't forget to have fun today as well, laugh a lot and be creative. Let it be a day of new realizations. Enjoy!

Surprises, surprises

What if we would do something like that more often? Spreading your talents (in your unique way) among people when they would least expected it? Among unknown people, colleagues, friends... Simply, you would lay down your 'luggage' and let yourself to be in the moment - in the moment which awakens your desire to give away your talent, your joy, your happiness (which you can feel when you let the flow takes you into its hands).

I wish we would do that more often. I wish we would experince that more often...

I used to surprise kids with my illustrations, drawn esp. for them (with their characteristics and nature), but now I always feel like I don't have time for that anymore. The above video (and some others - browse for the tag 'flash mob' if you're interested) reminded me, how happy I was doing that back then...

Question #3:

Which talent would you spread around if you were brave enough - whenever, wherever?

Going trough my images from February, I decided to choose this one for the Photo-Heart Connection project by Kat Sloma

My heart sings when I look at this picture. It tells everything about what I love. A colorful, dynamic, happy, active family-life with kids who never get bored and where everyday activities are as much fun as anything else.

This picture is a reminder that Life is Life. You can make it wonderful or you can make it miserable. Depends how you see things and what you do about them.

Life is colorful, I say. What do you think?

#9: Happy!

When I was abroad I finally was able to celebrate the New Year the way I've always imagined. In Boston (USA), there were no petards, no drunken people... There were 'buttons' instead of the tickets to every show you wanted to see. Gospel music, learning to dance hip-hop and folk dances, watching and learning sign language, ice sculptures, big parade and fireworks above the river Charles... I felt safe, I felt happy, I felt connection to all those happy people on the streets...

Copenhagen (Denmark) was not 'my type', but I loved a creative celebration among group of people. We were painting together and I enjoyed that very, very much. I still see the picture in my head and the happy feelings I had there....

Because of some bad experiences in my childhood (maybe I'll write about them some time), I don't like the loud, noisy and filled with alcohol parties and celebrations. It's too bad, because I would love to celebrate on the streets, esp. if the happiness and positive spirit come from the heart, not from some 'substances'... Oh, well, maybe some day...

Wishing you a wonderful celebration and all the best in the year 2012!

I have a question for you today, too:

Question #9: How, where or when did you celebrate the New Year the way you want it?

Thank you for your support, time and inspiration that you've left over the year on this blog. It's great to know we are not alone! Thank you for everything!
